About Us

History
In January of 1980, several sorority members were eager to make new acquaintances. They enjoyed each other socially and felt a need for further sisterhood. National officers were contacted and names of local sorors were submitted with the intent to establish a graduate chapter. Over the next several months the procedures for chartering a new graduate chapter were followed. And on December 14, 1980 Nu Pi Omega was chartered. The 20 charter members were: Joyce Banks; Joyce Brown; Jackie M (Greer) Buchanan; Diane (Edmonds) Little; Florence J Edmonds; Ruthie Hamer; Susan R Hubbard; Rose Hulum; Darice J (Meadows) Lindsey; Brenda Moten; Barbara Penelton; Marilyn L Ragler
Mary Reed; Thea D (Moses) Robinson; Josie M Russell; P Marlene Spotts; Jeanne St. Julian; Beverly (Johnson) Thomas; Maxine Wortham; and Linda C (Bingham) Young.

For more than 25 years, Nu Pi Omega Chapter has been serving the needs of Peoria, IL. With the pledge of Service to All Mankind, the chapter has actively provided support in the arts, scholarship, and civic needs.
